GENERAL SURGERY
about_meditrina

General surgery – hernias A hernia (rupture) is usually identified as a lump that appears when tissue breaks through a weakened area of the abdominal wall. General surgery on the abdominal wall is the only solution to a hernia. For hernia surgery to be effective and long-lasting, it must be ‘tension free’. Pulling the ruptured part of the abdomen wall tightly together with stitches is likely to lead to a rapid recurrence of the hernia. At Meditrina Hospital, general surgery for hernias involves bridging the gap between the edges of the rupture with a plastic mesh. This is strong, flexible, and permanent, and does not cause any adverse reaction in of hernias.
